How this calculator works

HSC uses the same 5.00 grading scale as SSC. The calculator averages the grade points of your main subjects (Bangla, English, ICT, and the three group subjects depending on Science / Business Studies / Humanities) and applies the 4th-subject bonus rule — any grade point above 2.00 in the 4th subject is added to your total before averaging.

Frequently asked questions

How is HSC GPA different from SSC GPA?
The grading scale and calculation are identical. Only the subject list differs — HSC has group-specific subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Accounting, Civics, etc.
What HSC GPA do I need for university admission in Bangladesh?
Public university cutoffs vary, but GPA 4.00+ is the typical minimum and GPA 5.00 is competitive for top universities like DU, BUET, and CU.
Does this calculator handle the GPA 5 with Golden A+ rule?
Yes. Golden A+ means A+ in every subject including the 4th — the calculator will show GPA 5.00 in that case.
What if I'm in the Madrasah Alim board?
The grading rules are equivalent. Map your subjects to the closest group and the calculation will hold.
Are these results official?
